 bubbles in tank
Author: gizfix (ME)

The toilet in half bath sounded like water was going in overflow tube. When I removed cover to look the water level was fine but big bubbles of air were coming up from along side filler valve. Not sure if it does it all the time or just when in use( standing or sitting). Don't have to flush for it to make noise just stand in front of or sit down on. Am I correct in thinking the filler valve is worn/clogged?

I would check the flapper first, it may be slowly leaking down enough for the fill valve to replenish the tanks water level.

It is shutting off "slowly" and aspirating air while doing so. Whether it is a defect or not depends on what make and model it is.

Rubber on flapper was cracked and allowing tank to slowly drain. Thank you, the toilet is quiet now. And wife too!
