Its that time of the year, in Chicago. Members of the Chicago Plumber's Union, for more than 44 years, have taken the responsibility of dye'ing the Chicago River Green for St Patrick's Day. I talked with one of the members that takes his job very seriously and he mentioned that one year after dye'ing the river, the crew went home and played racketball at the local health club. After 20 minutes of playing... their bodies were sweating GREEN.
The Downtown Parade will be held Saturday and the Southside Parade will be held Sunday. This year's parades will definitely be impacted by piles and mountains of snow, from January, Feburary and Early March. We expect to witness lots of GREEN SNOW at both parades.
Green Beer will be available all weekend at most places serving beer. A one day event has been transformed into a weekend event, beginning today (Friday) and going strong thru Monday (St Patrick's Day)

Steve Bailey always told the apprentices to be there, but I NEVER participated.

The Chicago River is a "sanitary canal" so nobody should be drinking the water anyway, at least until it is downstream a few miles.
