 Black water from all faucets
Author: Pharmacygirl (MI)

I have pitch black water coming from all faucets in my home. This started last night, and it happens regardless if it's hot or cold water. I ran the water from all the faucets for well over an hour last night, and over 30 minutes this morning. The hot water started to clean up, but then continued to have issues again. The water is clearer now, but is leaving dirt in the bottom of the tub and sinks. I wouldn't drink it, and I won't serve it to my animals. When it first happened, there was a foul odor, but that disappered (or I got used to it). I do have a well, there has not been work done recently, I had the well pump replaced 5 and 1/2 years ago, and I do not know what type of pipes I have. (I think they are galvanized).

You could have taken a clean sample to the county for free testing. They may also be able to tell you what smelly black slime is in the water.
