 Qest line to Toilet
Author: Louis Y. (MD)

> I was wondering if perhaps you might be able to guide me in fixing a problem I have?
>
> I have a "manifold" plumbing system in my home (about 20 years old) that employs the Qest polybutylene tubing (which is "gray" in color). I have a supply lead that is ½" Qest tubing (1/2" ID, 5/8" OD), and I need to replace the turn-off valve and then connect that to a standard toilet supply hose. I have approximately 5" of the Qest supply lead coming up through the floor (which the majority can be pushed down easily into the joist below), and about 15" between the floor and the bottom of the toilet water tank.

> Would one of the Qest Straight Stop Valves work? Or would you have another suggestion? I had used a "press-fit" (on the input side) quarter-turn valve by Keeney, but it was constantly leaking. Please advise...

I would use a 1/2 " pex X 1/2" poly transition coupling with a Brasscraft 1/4 turn chrome stop valve.

I would use a half by half polyb to pex coupling and what he said. Youll need crimpers.
