H have a faucet in the upstairs bathroom sink and when I turn on the hot water the pipe shakes and rattles, the hot water dribbles out and then stops. The pipes then groan and shake worse. If I turn on the hot water in the shower, the hot water will flow out of the sink faucet stronger but not full force, and no pipe rattle. Any thoughts? Thank You.

just to be clear..
you turn on the hot faucet, you get low pressure, you hear a rattling noise and the hot water stops. correct?
then you open the shower valve and water come out of the open hot water faucet. correct?
question. when you open the shower, is the water coming out of the hot faucet hot or cold or cool?
let it run for a minute or two to determine the temperature.
