 Matching flushometer with urinal
Author: adpetersen (IL)

I'm just starting a large renovation on my house and we're adding a bonus room above the garage for our 2 boys. With the bonus room we'll be adding a full bathroom. I'd really like to add a urinal to the bath as something unique. I really like the look of the Toto UT104E 0.5gpf and will probably buy one of these. My question is do I have to get the Toto flushometer, or can I buy one from another mfr and mix and match? Obviously, I would need to match spud location. I assume I would want to match the gpf as well? I will be having a plumber install, but I haven't hired him yet so I can't ask the question.

Thanks,

Aaron

You can actually use any flush valve with the proper GPF internals. You would not want a 1 gpf on a new urinal with .5 gpf rating. Same would apply if you used a urinal that required more water.
