It is probably a Moen faucet, but would need to see the handle or cold water side to be sure. If so, it DOES need a special wrench. If it is a Moen, call 1-800-BUY-MOEN and have them send you the "Monticello #14272 wide spread cartridge retainer wrench".

Handles do not look like Moen. Maybe Pegasus or Glacier Bay. Go to Home Depot and check their displays. If it is, it may be a faucet that you have to remove from the sink and work on it from the bottom. I had one of those a couple of months ago.

It can also be a Price Pfister faucet, the only thing throwing me off is the plastic insert for the handles. You are going to use a deep socket wrench to extract the stem. Once you do that, take another picture of the stem and i can identify.

Price Pfister never had a "D" shaped stem.

yeah, moen and delta have those D shaped cartrides/handles. i suspect moen. a cartridge puller should remove the cartridge.

so did Valley, as does the Pegasus stem on my desk. The "handle" stop plastic piece does look a bit like a Valley with the "groove" in it, but theirs was more "square" than this one looks like in the picture.
