I have a sewer smell coming from my floor drain in my laundry room. What can I do? The laundry room is located on the third floor. I don't have a basement I live in a townhouse.

you need to find out if the water in the floor drain trap is evaporating or being syphoned out when another fixture discharges.
make sure you have water in the trap and run everything that is close by. check to see if the water in the trap is still there. if it is being syphoned out, you have a problem that must be addressed. if the water is still there then it is evaporating over a period of time. as suggested, keep the trap full of water or fill it with mineral oil which will not quickly evaporate.

I like to use mineral oil in traps that are seldom used.
