i have wall-mounted toilet tank, can i still fix my toilet flang(wax) by leaving the tank mounted and try to slide toilet out

the toilet bowl must be lifted off the flange and once the new wax is applied it must be set down onto the flange. the wax must be compressed by pushing down on the bowl.

We never remove the tank to pull a toilet but as said in the other post it needs to be lifted off the flange.

must be an old style tank with a flush ell??

You missed the "wall mounted tank" part. He has to deal with a flush elbow, and it is very difficult to do unless the spud on the back of the bowl is removed.

Your right guys I missed that. They do (or did at one time) make repair flush ells that are in two sections. Been some time since I repaired a flush ell.
