Wife scratched Toto Drake Toilet Bowl using the toilet brush while cleaning.

Does anyone know of a procedure or anything at all to get rid of scratches in the bowl?

Can I send it back to manufacturer to be repaired?

Thanks in advance!

If she scratched through the glaze, it's a done deal.If she just made the gloss finish hazy, you might be able to polish it out.

For the 2 way shipping costs alone you could probably buy a new bowl. Mfg's typicaly do not repair such things.
Any cosmetic repair to a deep scratch will not last.

did she mix up the grill brush and the toilet brush??

i cant believe its even possible to scratch a toilet with a nylon brush????

i recommend trying tub gel gloss....it works well on minor marks on tubs.....automotive polishing compound???

no way to have it fixed by Toto...you can just get a new bowl and reuse the tank to save a few bucks if it comes down to that

if you replace it get the Sanigloss version....we have a few of them in my house and it cleans w/o any effort or scrubbing

First of all thank you. I appreciate all of you taking the time to reply!

I was very upset when I saw the scratch marks on the bowl especially since I told/asked my wife to get a different brush to clean the toilet. I was afraid the bowl was going to get scratched! I could tell just by looking at it, that the brush did not have "enough" bristles and the wire that binds the bristles was almost exposed. This was a brand new brush! The brush must have been a Chinese cheap toilet bowl brush.

I will try all of your suggestions and pray that they work since the scratches look really bad and we do not have the money to purchase another toilet or for the cost of the plumber installation.

To all the Lay People(non-professional) out there please use my experience as a lesson. Never skimp on the brush to clean the toilet or you will regret it to the tune of over $500.00( per Toto website) That is just for the toilet itself without the new installation cost for the plumber.

Thank You.

Lee

you don't need a whole toilet, you only need the bowl.
