Most likely the partial blockage is in the main line. You may need a professional with a quality machine to help you.

More than one possible cause for gurgling. You may need a plumber to diagnose and cure it.

Plunging is great exercise, but rarely attacks the real issue of restrictions and blockages. A licensed plumber with the right equipment can do it much faster and effective. Unless you really need the exercise, I'd call a licensed plumber for peace of mind and a drain that doesn't bubble or gurgle.
