 Water Pressure

I am buying a new house and the water pressure taken at the outside hose bib was 110 lbs. What would be a good way to get the pressure below 80 lbs?

Sometimes the front hose bibb is intentionally taken off ahead of the pressuer reducing valve. The inside of the house should NOT see anything over 80, with ~60 being about 'normal'. If you have a pressure regulating valve, it may be shot.

The ONLY way is by using a properly funcioning Pressure Reducing Valve.

As said a pressure reducing valve would do the job.if you are city supplied.easier to lower the pressure switch if well supplied.

Have you EVER seen a house with a pump that had 110psi?

Most well systems use a 30/50 PSI setting. Why would any plumber set a pressure reducing valve for more than 50 PSI. I never did and never had complaints from my customers concerning low water pressure.
