I've put in over a hundred walk-in baths. You need a lot of wiggle room in the bathroom to maneuver them into place. Forget about installing one over 52" in an existing 59" bathtub area. Also the drain usually needs to be moved to the other end of the bath stall. A PITA if you're on a slab. And the finish work can be extensive. You need to be good with tile - the extension panels they sell are flimsy and cheap - frame a box and tile it. Put up a grab bar by the door and one on the back wall.

Charge a lot.

The Kohler one is on a totally different level...nothing like the basic ones...THREE drains!

But if the three drains all tie into the same trap, how can it possibly drain any quicker?

I think depends on the kind of product.

i only glanced at the install...enough to realize i need to charge a lot more

3 drains, 3 traps....the instructions even say not to tie the drains together...run separate to the stack

im not positive, but i think (2) of the drains are site drains that you need to make an airgap on and 1 is the main drain

i guess having an open site drain under the tub limits it to 1st floor applications with an open/unfinished basement under it....

the supply house has never sold one(i may be the 1st)

Seems like a lot of dikkkking around to accomplish a minimal benefit of draining a little quicker. I've never had a customer complain about the draining speed. The benefits of ez in/out combined with the ability to take a deep soak far outweighs that issue.
