 What's Your Favorite Boiler
Author: rjjr38 (ME)

I really love the System 2000 maybe because they are made in NJ where I grew up. Buderus and viesman are great too. I just bought a house that has a 19 yr old Trianco w/domestic coil. That's got to go. Anyone have some good ideas. I'm looking for feedback. Thanks

I like the Burnhams, but have been installing the Peerless boilers lately. Not a bad system..

The System 2000 is an excellent choice. The best boiler in the world, is only as good as the installer. Find the right contractor.

Lemon.....Which model Lochinvar boiler should I be looking for? I know of no oil-fired Lochinvar boilers. Help me out. They're good boilers. Whether they're the best in the world is another story. Their mod/cons have a high resistance to flow, and must be piped primary/secondary which offers un-necessay challenges to their very design.I prefer fire-tube boilers which can be run with a single pump, and all the return water flowing through the boiler. Of course, stainless heat exchanger and outdoor reset. Here in the northeast, we probably reach design temperature 4 days a heating season. In Florida, you'd have a hard time finding a small enough boiler to gain the efficiency from a mod/con.
