I need to add a washer / dryer on main floor, the existing is in the basement. Can I extend the existing standpipe upstairs? If so can I add a Y in the basement so the exsisting wash can still be used?

Pay us to come to the house and look at the system and we could tell you.

don't mind hj. he just wants to get away from the D-backs for awhile.
you can not extend the standpipe so it reaches from the basement to 3 feet above the first floor. you can,if the current set-up allows, move the trap and its vent up close to the floor and extend the standpipe from there. i believe some jurisdictions allow a 5 foot riser from the trap.

And the Red Sox are doing better? Your only salvation is that the Yankees are just as bad.

From his post in a different forum, this is a compact ( combo ) washer dryer. Doesn't change most of the issues.

wouldn't this be "wet venting" from two different floors..a violation of the code.
