Check the code in your area to make sure galvanized is allowed.

Why are you replacing the existing pipe?Galvanized is higher priced ,at least in my area .I would use black iron with drip legs at each appliance that the propane serves.jmo

Galvanized iron piping should not be used for gas piping. It is something about a reaction of the gas on the galvanizing. The local utility company would not allow it to be used. Use only black iron pipe or some other material such as copper. Do not install copper through a wall or floor unless it is sleeved. It will rub and wear a hole in it.

Varies locally . Around here, galv. is commonly used for nat. gas. Many years ago,it was used underground for gas, and that seemed to have only a 30 to 45 year life span, due to corrosion.

IT is propane gas and the prohibition, where it exists, against galvanized does not apply. But, there is also NO advantage to using galvanized over black pipe.
