Hello. I registered after searching for "toilet", "drain issue" and "toilet issue" and Googling to my hearts' content but finding nothing. I don't now if I'm wording it wrong or whatnot, but I'm here to try and get help.
I have a weird toilet issue, one I've never seen before. I flush, it fills up, and then slowly drains and no paper and/or "remnants" flush. It also doesn't fill back up. It seems to be a clog of some sort, but honestly I don't know 100% so I'd rather ask people that know more than I do. Any help or advice would be a great help.
Thanks in advance! I also look forward to helping in my own limited way when I can, since my knowledge of plumbing in general is limited on my best day.

first thing to try is a toilet auger.

Um... so my mother was taking a shower while I was gone to look for a toilet auger or snake pipe or something, and she had to plunge the bathtub. Now the toilet works just fine (for now). Thanks for the advice, and I'll be sure to be on the lookout for an auger. I'm sure this only means that there's a bigger, super-confusing piping issue in the house that needs to be dealt with.

That's about it. Call a plumber.

that changes things. if the problem is only in the toilet/s, the auger is a good place to start.
but, now if the bathtub is backing up, it is either a seperate issue or a sympton of a larger issue.
