 Weird Toilet Problem
Author: fatback1980 (Non-US)

Hi All!

This is my first post and of course it is about a toilet.

When I flush the toilet, the tank empties, but will not fill again.

It will fill however if I turn the stop valve off and then on.

You can hear the water whoosh and fill the tank.

I have to do this everytime I flush the crazy thing.

Any help would be most appreciated.

first logical guess would be the fill valve inside the tank. is there a plastic ball on the end of an arm that drops as you flush the toilet? is that sticking in the up position?

You probably have a Fluidmaster fill valve, and if so, it needs a new "cap assembly" or a new valve whichever is easier for you to do.

How about a photo of the water line UNDER the tank.. could be a fuse valve problem

Purchase one of these at any hardware or big box store and do what the instructions (on the back) say.
