 Sewage ejector pump

My pump hums and the plug gets warm but pump wont start until you unplug and plug back in i in and it works perfect? I thought it was float replaced it same problem?

Sounds like a primary winding is burnt. Pull it, have it inspected by motor shop to determine if it can be repaired or salvaged.

id replace the pump.....when you figure all your time and the cost of the repair its not worth it....even if its repaired will you ever fully trust it?

ive never heard of anyone repairing a sanitary pump...replace it

Depending on the age of your pump, why not replace it with the same brand and model. Not if it is not to your liking, there are several companies making sewage ejector series pumps.

if its for discharging toilet waste (2" discharge) i like the Little Giant Dominator

if its just clear water ( 1 1/2 discharge) id just use a submersible sump pump(i also like Little Giants)

you'll get tons of opinions on brand names....Zoeller is very popular too

look for cast iron and buy quality

id also recommend installing an alarm kit while your in there....it will save you some day
