I have two bathrooms on the third floor of my house. They are basically side by side. One of the toilets is having an issue. The toilet flushes and fills properly, then over the next several hours, the bowl completely drains out. I have asked several plumbers what the issue could be, and no one could help me. Any ideas? Thanks!

My first guess would be a crack in the toilets trap, allowing the water to trickle out of the bowl and down the waste pipe, I've saw this several times.

There are several possibilities, but we would have to be there to sort them out and find which is your problem.

Thinking about the third floor comment. Is it possible that there is a plugged vent and this toilet is getting sucked dry when lower fixtures are causing suction which would normally cause air to be pulled from the roof vent?
Does the problem happen even if no other fixtures in the house are used? I suppose I'd put a chair in front of the toilet, then sit and watch to see what happens in various conditions.

That covers leaking, siphoning and another is wicking. There could be a piece of string, stuck, draped over the trap wier.

Since there are two toilets side by side, it would be a "crap shoot" which one would siphon if the vent were clogged.

That would be the "last" option I would consider, since I have never had it happen so far.
