hate to bring this up . But sometimes NO 2 wont go down when flushed and it backs up. I have to leave in toliet for a few hrs so it can disolve then flush ... shouldnt have to do this ..Help

Check to see if the water level in the tank is at the correct height. Make sure the flapper in the tank is opening fully when flushed. The small holes in the bowl may be partially clogged restricting the amount of water used during flushing. There may be an obstruction in the bowls trap requiring the use of a toilet auger to clear.

if its something that has changed recently there may be an obstruction in the toilet...you can get it augered
if its something that hasnt changed then you need a better toilet
i recommend the Toto Drake or Kohler Cimerron

Your issue is quite common these days with some toilets, defective waste lines, medicines and toilet habits.
Anyone of the above could be a major factor, in theory. Until we know more about the brand of your toilet, how old it is and how old your sewer lines are, it is most difficult to address your issue. Are you presently taking medicine? Are you on city sewers or a septic system?
A licensed plumber may help to address some of those issues in making sure your toilet is functioning properly and that your sewer line is working properly.

thanks for all the posts . Yes taking meds but all pills go in coffee grounds in the trash . will call the plumber . seems like all our problems may be all related . thanks again... we have city water btw
