installed two pans no secure curb.the tile installer uses the poly frame to set the pan at half the curb poured/set mix.the inspector failed to pass did not fail the install?/any of you have been in this type install?I held water to the temp curb but the inspector wants corner s confirmed?Today,my boss said the inspector had nothing good to say about my install!!!! Tomorrow I wake early and am in the office to discus having the inspector before the trades board!!!!my install held water to the temp curb.Maybe he failed to except framing?but he could not have missed the fact that the plumber held the test level.I will not change the plumbing install.corners are not needed inside ever.He has a curb above the code ignorance.I am pissed!

Lemon, what is the poly frame?
The membrane didn't wrap up and over the curb?

No he splits the frame and the pan comes up in the middle of it!His idea.but seems to hold true.Poly frame is what looks like stucco corners to me,It is frame code !I care less about what happens after the install.but never fail the water level to drain as installed.I am after the inspector for this very reason.I could very well have made the pan to four feet above the drain level but had no reason to do so.

Generally the shower pan is the responsibility of the general contractor or the tile setter as he sets the tile and therefor responsiable for what is under his tile work.
Dam to be 2 to 9 inches hOT MOP OR WATER PROOF LINER 3 INCHES above daM AND TO BE WATER TESTED FOR LEAKS. eXPLAIN IN A LITTLE MORE DETAIL ABOUT YOUR ISSUES/CONCERNS

Now, that is a good idea. I am sure he will ALWAYS pass your future inspections without any questions or complaints. Sure, when pigs fly.

when i went into business for myself i quit doing the membrane for tile pans....there's no reason a plumber should be doing it (even though its in the code book)....if the pan leaks in a year who's to blame? the plumber will blame the tile guy and the tile guy will blame the plumber....i let the tile guy do it all and he takes 100% of the responsibility
i think they all leak eventually....ive never tore out an old one that didnt have a rot spot...why even get involved????
give that 1 hour of work to the tile guy and accept 0% responsibility for it....

I have seen many copper pans with holes corroded in them, but it does take many years.

My install did,but was measured to come up in the middle of the finished curb. The inspector says the poly must extend past the curb. And no securing within three inches above the curb.

Mr leak not sure the pan manufacturer ever heard of the way you posted.not sure why any point above the water level full to a curb is an issue.provided it is the true curb height.handicapped or roll in?water can but will not rise hydrodynamic through a finish, above the flood level..

HJ.the boss tried and I installed corners.took pictures that he would /maybe have passed.the inspector showed up on this job after the tile guys cut the revisions away and did what they always do.I took pictures of the revisions as asked because he did not fail my install?Rather asked for corrections.that is to me .unguided above the use bull!If the code requires the whole bath to be panned and floor drained.I have and can do this.but the shower ends on the inside of the curb as the plumbing code is!!!Any inspector who see's dura rock on wall board must under stand he is not stopping water.but I always control it with my installs. You think you can stop an open shower door curtain?

Packy cost is not relative to install.I cannot fix the closure that causes the rock /finished wall deterioration to occur.out side my seal.this inspector needs to understand water.not even close as he presents seals that still could not protect sheet rock.If he wants leaking rock board out side?"I live the water.I know the failures.he is not fixing --it!A towel on the curb.Outside may be his next code best answer.because he thinks water is rising.I only know falling.

Dallas requires the shower pan to be installed and tested and inspected on the top out plumbing inspection. it is the plumbers responsibility and once you have that green tag saying itwas good before tile you are absolved of responsibility. all memberanes i have installed had to reach over the curb and have corners installed. inside the rest of the shower the pan must reach up the walls a minimum of 6"

Dlh.the inspector never failed the install?this was the start of the problem. He asked for corrections.I added the corner extensions as is the written code here to extend the pan beyond the extrusion 3".he was onsite doing an electrical inspection to see the tile guys cut away the pan????not on me but still found my self under the gun from my boss of twenty years.now I am offended.Any one need a twenty dollar an hour service slug!!!I will not steal or replace good items to make profit.@#$%& would be nice to be paid for being on call 24/7/365.to be called not a company person is blowing my mind!!!Ouch.plumbers try not to hurt the feelings of poor service guys.we might be gone.I make ten dollars for ever hour in product profit.the hourly as servicing new construction is at that per hour.15/46.I am just now going to count.@@/? dollar raise ?I would rather clear drains all day and night than to be the tile guys bitch!!!!I did take pictures of the corrections and that is why I am now looking for new employment.I did my job to code.weather I feel the tile guy always makes his job the best, regardless of code or not.after advising the boss several times this was the tiles guys practice I am again offended .now what ?work slow down?not my style.I will make the on site person sign for every failed detail.even my own!!!Bad feeling .
