That looks like the work of a DYI'er and not very professional. Someone paid for a peach pie and all they got was the crust.

The supply houses are selling rolls of stainless steel water piping using special connectors for the ends. That is a water heater connection and it looks like it was kinked.

not to mention that the shut off is 1/2 open. or 1/2 closed depending on which side of the road you are standing on.

It is approved in accesible locations only. They can not be covered up in a wall, celing or underground.

That is very unprofessional. With a little more effort, it could be repaired using the right material. Failure could be very provoking.

I suppose those people who wonder why we ALWAYS suggest replacing "handyman" work will question why we don't just tell him to leave it like it is if it is not leaking.

well, he can replace it or not. it is 50/50, flip a coin, medsa-medsa, 6 to one and 1/2 dozen to the other, split right down the middle, com see com sa.

According to the IRC, corrugated ss piping is not on the list of approved materials for water distribution piping P2905.5
