My refrigerator line is connected to the cold water pipe downstairs, by a saddle valve. Some time ago, My ice maker line was no longer carrying any water to my ice maker. A person where I deal a lot, suggested the saddle valve was clogged and to drill out -with an 1/8 bit- the intake to clear it. It was clogged, I cleared it and reinstalled the valve, but still no water is coming into the line from the pipe. Any suggestions.

It means it is plugged somewhere else, possibly in the valve itself.

I would disconnect the icemaker line at the saddle valve & check that the valve works, and water pressure is supplied. Is the tubing copper? Might be kinked somewhere. Might be some trash or sediment in the line. Disconnect the other end, put it in a small bucket and see if you can flush the "junk" out of the line. Once you ascertain that water pressure is available at the other end of the line and still no ice, the problem may be in the fridge. Hope this helps.

Do what Fixitangel said. I have been to several homes where the homeowner thought it was the valve and supply line and it ended up being the selenoid valve or a simple filter in the fridge.

Thanks for the advice, I will give it a try; if I pour water into the ice maker itself, it will make ice.
