Leaking tank where you connect the supply line to the tank.
Author: roma1337 (TX)

Hello I am frustrated with this.. hope someone can help. My toilet seems to leak where the bottom of the tank meets with the supply line. I went to lowes to buy the supply line, thinking that this had to be the case but water seems to still come out where the plastic piece to the pipe meets with the bottom of the tank. I tried tightening it but it seems the more I do the more is leaks.Could it be missing like a washer or a seal....any help???? thanks

it sounds as though you need to replace the seal for the fill valve.

i would recommend just replacing the fill valve as the new one will come with a seal

yeah, it's either the gasket (seal) on the inside of the tank or there's a crack in the fill valve shank.
go back to the store and get a fluidmaster #400.
all necessary parts and instructions will be in the box...

I just installed one yesterday for the same reason and a new gasket didnt help. Must have had a hairline crack in the plastic. If you use bleach tablets in the tank like this lady did then your parts will deteriorate faster.

You are probably missing the crack on the end of the fill valve. Replace the valve and your leak will stop.
