At the exact point main waste line enters into the foundation wall, a wide crack of approx 1" wide, 3" long on pipe. This pipe travels under adjoining room's foundation (no basement) into underground front lawn. Is this repairable or must I reroute a new main waste line? Thanks. CR

I say time for replacement also.
There is an alternative to digging. I am not sure what companies are in New York, but here in PA there is a comapany called Pipe Shark. They do the drainage liners. They only have to dig a hole at the other end of the pipe and then they run a sleeve inside the old line. This method does not tear up your yard. Not sure of the costs. I know people say they can cost more, but less intrusive.
