I have installed a Kohler K-679-KS Thermostatic mixing valve. The valve does not mix hot and cold water. I only get very cold or very hot water from the valve. I have confirmed that both the hot and cold water supplies are working at the valve. I have adjusted the valve temperature settings. I have replaced the cartridge and filters. The supply lines are 1/2" and then expend to 3/4" just before the valve inputs. The supply lines also have 3/4" air chambers that are about 24" tall. I have pics but can't get them embedded in this post. Is the plumbing causing the valve to not mix the hot and cold water? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

since you have confirmed both hot and cold supplies are flowing properly, the problem has to be in the kohler valve.

Kohler has already been contacted. All valve parts have been replaced by Kohler. Still same problem.

Laurob . Do you know how the stop checks work??If so use them to stop the flow of water and remove the thermostatic unit.now open to full open the cold side stop check?Ware your rain coat.Be careful not to over rotate the stop valves as this can get real messy real fast, when trying to shut them off..How is the flow?did you completely open the cold side or get tired of turning?I hate that they made them work backwards to what I am a custom too.But understanding it may get you cold flow.If you get good flow from the cold.we can start on the thermostatic clip and guard control.I had two in a row with the plastic clip limit broken.

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.
