Has anybody had a problem with an intermittent drip on a New Moen single turn tub faucet?
I put one in and it will discharge about a tablespoon of water about once an hour. After it drips a little bit, it stops. Overnight I left a bucket under tub spout. Next day it had about a half-cup of water in it. What baffles me is, it is not a steady drip. House is on city water with new pressure regulator. Any ideas how to fix this little gremlin?
Do the new seals need a little time to "break in"?
P.S. I pre-soldered the tub spout fitting and shower riser, then assembled. No heat was applied to valve body. Also, I have not installed the anti-scald plastic cogs yet. Would this make any difference?
Many Thanks for all your help.

I myself would replace the cartridge and get another from Moen to replace it in my inventory. If you don't have one call Moen and they will send one out very quickly.

I absolutely agree with Shoemaker. But also be aware that if you have a handheld shower head attached to this that the water remaining in that hose and head can drip out of the spout for hours. You could try removing the hand held shower and see if the problem persists.

pull the cart out and check seals for debris or small tares

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.

It is probably drain back from the hand held shower, if you have one.

Thanks for the replies. I'll pull the cart, blow the lines, check for trash, add a thin skiff of silicone, try, and call Moen for a new cart if that fails. Never had a goofy leak that only drips when IT wants to.

Nope, /dielectric silicone grease\ is a moen packaged item.
