Hi, after living in this house for 7 years I just discovered that the closet wire shelves have been attached to the dry vent stack between the laundry room and closet walls. There are 5 drilled holes in the vent stack. Most still have the screw and anchor in place. What is the best way to repair?

That is a very common occurrence. Best thing to do is cut out the pipe and replace. You could go the easy route and fill holes with silicone.

The first thing to do it remove the plastic plugs. Then you could "snap" and glue half-couplings over each hole.

anything short of cutting and replacing may or may not work..there is still water draining down that pipe and could leak...its only condensation and rain, but its enough.
cut and replace

Boy, if that is all it takes to convince you of something, my wife grew up in Rhinelander and we have some prime swamp land we will sell you.

I know. The government traded a "prime piece of real estate" in Phoenix for a lot of acres of that "swamp land". They thought it was a good deal, and so did the developer who was able to palm it off to somebody else, and then build a megopolis here.
