Got a call today to repair a Grohe 33853 Europlus
spring is broken...that i know for sure
but other problems are:
water pressure sometimes pushes the spout out of its stand (i figure this is a spring issue)
water pressure fluctuation...sometimes low or no pressure..im deciding between vaccum breaker and cartridge...i will probably replace both while im there anyways...
is there a rebuild kit?
what is the 1800 grohe pro line?

That faucet is no longer made .It could be the flow regulator, ceramic cartridge or pressure spring.

do you think the vaccuum breaker could cause a flow issue?
what is the flow regulator? not on my Grohe parts list for the faucet

I have this faucet -- since 1996. No problems with mine thus far, so it's hard to relate to yours -- sorry. Functional parts are still available, but forget trim. It's been my practice when getting new fixtures to immediately buy the trim pieces that I predict will be toast ten years later. Certainly anything plastic or painted. Anyway, given the faucet's design, I can't picture either the cartridge or the anti-siphon piece causing the spout to jump out when the water's turned off. I would think that when water valves are closed, any surge or thump would transmit back from the valve, not forward of it.

im assuming it jumps out because the spring is broken
my big question is the changes in pressure from almost nothing to normal..if i replace the cartridge and the vacuum breaker id think id be covered...ill be curious to see on Monday how much the parts are and who has them in stock..ive never repaired a Grohe faucet before...its a pretty rare install around here..

Both in the spray head and in the quick connect unit you will find check and flow control devises .I would simply remove them both. The spring breaking concerns me.bent I can see broken leads me to believe water may be leaking on it.

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.

No local plumbing supply will have the parts in stock. Hell, they rarely stock US parts. If this just a nuisance and not a showstopper, you have time to place an order (Google for suppliers), but I would consider a "replace parts until it goes away" approach a poor option for a professional.

the pressure issue is not something that happens all the time....so its unlikely it will occure while im there...its not something i can test out since it rarely happens.
while i have the faucet open why not replace the cartridge, vacuumbreaker and gasket kit...to me its foolish not to...make the faucet mechanically new again....the spray head is probably not available anyways.

Called Grohe...they said its the spray head...new spray head + spring are over $200....soooo were going with a new Delta faucet for the same price...i typically push and get a faucet replacement for most faucets over 15-20 years old...this one being discontinued helped.
