Happy New Year and thanks for all the help the past year. I just installed a Moen 1224B cartridge in the bathroom lavatory faucet. It had a drip and now it doesn't drip anymore, but when you close the hot water faucet I can feel the handle hit the stop but with a little more push the handle will continue to turn around. Any suggestions? Again, thanks for all the answers this past year.

The handle did not go all the way down for some reason. Maybe you put too many of the metal washers the stem under the handle. If you had the wrong handle it would not contact the stop at all, and the stop tube cannot slide down too far either.

All I did was pull out the old cartridge and put it the new one and then installed the threaded plastic retaining nut, no washers or anything. I don't remember this happening on the other one. TIA

You may need to crawl under the sink and tighten the stem brass nut. Some times the action of removing the retainer nut loosens the stem to top connection.

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.

In that case, you may not have the notches in the cartridge into the slots in the valve body. Therefore it is not all the way in, and if you turned it a little harder the whole unit would probably rotate.

Does this faucet have the chrome sleeve with the built in stop? If so, maybe it's not down as far as it needs to go.
