Copper should not be IN the cement. Cement is not friendly to copper. Around here, they uses to put copper UNDER the slab, but don't do that much anymore either.

it depends on how lazy/in a hurry the plumber is that installed them. usually they are not more than a foot below and some are just under the moisture barrier (plastic)

approximately 8"under the slab. The only copper in the slab is vertical, and it bends to ward the next fixture served.Remember footer depth will change the curve.not the shelves depth which is the plumbers gauge even when a back hoe digs the job.

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.

It depends on how deep you dig the trench for them. Usually between 4" and 4' below the concrete.

There you go, getting scientific on us again. Who uses a decimal ruler, and we used 6' Lufkin folding rulers they made one that both sides started from the same end. If the apprentice had one and was not paying attention, when he measured 48", he wound up with a 24" piece.

years ago, i worked with an old timer who "rough" measured a 100 ft distance with his 6 ft folding rule. he didn't lay it on the ground but with the ruler open out and holding it in the center, walked forward touching one end stepping and touching the other end.
he was within a foot at the end.
also, do you know how to make a perfect 45 with a folding 6ft rule.
open up a couple of sections, bend the joints so the tip of the rule touches 22 15/16. this will form a 45 at the 6" joint.
now, if i only could figure out how to make a 6ft rule predict tonight's lottery number?

The numbers are all on the ruler, all you have to do is guess where they are hiding.
