The customer who's house I'm remodeling is a real estate agent. He just sold a condo, that the sellers had done a quick fix-up before the sale. The new owners just moved in and are having problems with the tub/shower. First they didn't know how to divert the water from the spout. The RE agent goes over there and sees the diverter is a pull down ring on the spout(so I'm guessing it's a Delta set). Then they find out the hot and cold are reversed. The faucet is a cartridge type(I haven't been there to determine a model#) with the lever turning counterclockwise
Off, Cold to Hot. Can a Delta cartridge be turned to correct a reverse condition?
Thanks, Steve

It is probably a "monitor" and I think the cartridge only fits one way but the center knob will adjust the temp. and can be put together in the wrong position.

But then again Delta did make one that just turned with no separate temp knob that can be flipped for back to back installations.

Yes, I do it all the time when I install the valve upside down to give maximum flow to the shower head.

it depends on how old the valve is
i dont think you can spin the cartridge on the old ones
but i know you can on the new R10000 universals

You could reverse the cartridge in ALL Delta faucets, except the ones with a ball. For those you needed a "reversing ball".

I found on Delta's website, info for correcting condition on 1300/1400 and 1700/1800 series valves. I forwarded this to buyer's RE agent and he notified seller's agent. The seller's agent will deal with making corrections as well as other plumbing issues that have surfaced.

It works exactly like it should, since the stem is also 180 degrees symetrical.
