it's a delta 3 knob.when itry to screw the diverter out the whole thing turns,but does'nt come outi tried to hold the chrome shaft with channel locks and turn the end of the diverter but could not break it loose.

Try to locate your model at www.deltafaucet.com. You may even find an expoded parts list or installation sheet. Did you look on the underside of the diverter for a small access hole with a possibe recessed allen head setscrew? If plumbers had x-ray telepathic vision, they would all be bazillionaires.

IT should just pull out, but I have had some so corroded in place that it takes a real yank to move them.

the whole thing unscrews and then you will need to pull the linkage stem and divertor out.2683 valve stem number rp17730.
