 sump-pump
Author: kim82 (NJ)

this is a new thread follo-up from one i started last week.
i want to move washer in closet with dryer,
i have to get stackables since i might add a sump-pump.

I would run the pipes from the hot water heater- (10-12feet away)into attic to washer in closet.
and run the pipes for drain in attic to sink drainage line.
this is what one plumber reccomended, other than ripping up concrete.

What does anyone ink of this idea?
better than ripping up concrete?

it is not a sumo pump but an effluent pump. sumps are designed for pumping only water. but yeah it could work especially since its just the washer but it isnt the best choice as it has its inherent problems and much more to worry about as far as maintenance goes

tear up concrete and have all the work inspected.you either add to the value of your home or sump overhead.

Good Luck. Insulate your hot piping, although costly, it will pay you back every day.

In WI if it can go by gravity it MUST go by gravity, so your idea would be a code violation

id bust up the floor

if you have no money and must do it to make your life easier then do it your way...it will work, but i agree it will not add to the value of your house.

it is an average. he has done enough to know about what needs to be done and he will probably add a bit if it goes worse than he figured
