What type of PVC pipe can I use for underground potable water applications.

Whatever kind you want to as long as it has a pressure rating adequate for your needs and the class is suited for your purpose. In other words, do not use SDR sewer pipe for a water line.

generally a sch 40 pvc tubing is ok

I will tell you that I do not miss 27 degree mornings in the least. WE think it is freezing when it reaches 67. My son asked me if I ever missed the Chicago weather and wanted to go back. I told him my mother didn't raise any stupid kids.
