 Urinal clogged
Author: homeowner07 (AZ)

Hello everybody!

Can somebody tell Me how to unclog a urinal?
I ran a snake thru the cleanout, but I can tell that the clog is inside the trap or in the pipe that enters the wall, any thing else besides removing the urinal from the wall? Any quimicals?. Once I had the same problem removed the urinal and the trap wall connection was 98 percent clogged.

Thanks

Grettings

Remove the urinal from the wall and clean the trap and urinal very well and also snake out the drain line. It is most likely full of urine salts. I have pulled many urinals and removed change and other foreign items as well. Good luck.

Which clean-out? Does the urinal have an exposed trap?
If the trap is integral, pull the urinal and snake the drain line.

...I don't know what stinks worse, a grease trap or a urinal drain

Urine salt can form a solid rock in the urinal trap or in the wall, over time. As suggested, remove the urinal and be prepared to remove the harden salt deposits. After all is clean and cleared, consider using
"Casi-Solve" once a week in the drain or consider installing a battery operated flush valve for a positive flush each time the urinal each time its used.

Best Wishes

Automatic flush valves on urinals are a big plus on urinal drain reliability.

I'll tell you this Sloan Optima Smooth EBV-200-A is one that I like!
It Slides on over the existing handle type valve and if the automatic flush fails you can just press it to still operate the handle. They work and thats all it takes to make me like them! I've installed many with no problems![www.sloanvalve.com]
