Can someone help me with this? I installed a new Moen kitchen faucet. This is a single lever with the spray nozzle built in. After installation, I realize the lever to turn the water on works fine, excpet it rotates from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock by passing through 12. I guess I should have checked this before turning on the water. Anyway, because it was late, I call Moen;s customer service line. They feel it was assembled wrong at the factory. They send me a new handle assembly.
Now my problem is I can turn on the water, but the handle feels very loose and will not shut off the water. What did I do wrong in the re-assembly?
Should I just remove the whole thing and return for a new one?

Seems like I've done this myself during installation. Gut feeling was the first unit was fine you just had something turned 180 degrees during installation (perhaps the whole faucet). The later problem regarding being too loose, I cant help with.

On some of these lever handle faucets, there is a little tab like thing on the handle that needs to go into a slot on the black round thing that screws to the cartridge (sorry, I cannot describe it any better than that). Check the installation directions closely and examine the parts you are putting together to try and see how they work. If all else fails, call Moen.

Their support line (1-800-GET-MOEN) is pretty good. They do stand behind their product, so maybe they can suggest a trick to adjusting the handle stops?
Mine failed recently after ten years and they sent a repair kit that my son had installed by the time I got home and he's only 16 (and not very technical either).
It turned out to be a hairline crack in a plastic piece that occurred due to the kids shutting off the water by hitting the handle with their fist instead of their fingertip. It was hard to see since nothing was actually broken.

This may help: When the faucet is off and the handle is in the 12 o'clock position, to turn it on, do you pull the handle towards yourself or do you push the handle away from yourself?

Kitchen faucets go up and down to turn on or off.
