What is the minimum size for a washing machine standpipe, is it 1.5 or 2 inch?

2" is code here for the stand pipe, drain trap and drain pipe, the vent can be 1-1/2".
Personally I wouldn't use anything else for a residential installation even if code permitted it.

I just had an inspector turn down a standpipe because it was more than 24" tall, even though it was existing.
