 single-lever shower leak
Author: Anonymous User

My single-lever, American Standard shower continues to drip, from the shower head. I'm told it's probably the cartridge, in the shower body, but may be the pressure-balancing valve, located behind the cartridge. What's involved if I have to replace the balancing valve? I know that the cartridge is an easy replacement.

>If you can identify the model of A/S faucet buy a complete rebuild kit which includes all internal parts although the cartridge is more than likely the cause. If you cannot find out the A/S model number you'll probably need to take the parts out and bring them to a A/S distributor or a specialty replacement parts store for a match-up.
